Halfaxis started when a fleet humans and dwarves ventured onto the archipelego and saved the local goblins from being eaten by a herd of baby kracken. Upon that moment the goblin tribe immediately adopted their saviors into the tribe with much feasting and celebration.
Halfaxian Goblins are known for their suicidal inginuity. Aging at twice the rate of their human and Dwarven counterparts, they tend to learn fast, live fast, and take chances where others would advise caution. This trait is exagerated when they are around eleven and they begin a phase known as "Elevensies". A goblin's elevensies are a time for wild fashons and wild passions, to the point that when a goblin's family feel elevensies comming on they convince the youngster to go out and enter a voluntary exile until they calm down. Durring this time the young goblins go about wandering the makshift village of the Island and begin to experiment with all sorts of new and exiting ideas. These can include from simple things to outragous fashons and art styles, to death defying stunts, to inventing amazing new gadgets such as the world have never seen before. Durring their elevensies goblins are willing to risk even more than usual in an attempt to create whatever nonsence sparked their creativity and often this leads to tragic results. However, [librarian] rescue teams follow them into exile to try and give medical assistence where possible and to reverse engineer the remnants of any inventions when nessessary.
